Have you used vellum on a layout?
I love how it softens the layout, and gives it a frosted look.
I had some older photos that this frosted vellum was the perfect match for.
You can add the vellum as mats or even as a larger piece to soften the whole layout.

Vellum is one of those incredible crafting mediums what when used properly can add so much to a simple layout or card. The trick with vellum is finding a way to adhere it to your project in a way that doesn’t show through the transparent paper. Once you’ve mastered the adhering, vellum can be used to add a layer of interest over a solid colour or pattern. Vellum is also great to use as a way of toning down, or muting a pattern so that either your photos or journaling can stand out and be the visual focus of the layout or card.
Let me show you some of my tricks as well as a layout and card that came together super quickly using vellum!

Hi, everybody! Nicole here, with a layout I created using the Pumpkin Chain Border Maker Cartridge and the Country Comfort collection. The bold colours are so pretty and I the vellum paper is gorgeous! If you’re looking for a way to soften up your projects, vellum papers will do the trick!
Edward is at that age now where he thinks he is too big to go to the pumpkin patch… So, I decided to go through some photos from 2014 to scrap. I found a few of my favourite photos from when we visited Papa John’s Farm. He had such a great time searching for the right pumpkin!

I love family time. It is the best warm and fuzzy feeling there is. I am sure that you have seen these family photos of mine on many projects, but let me share the story.
It was a fall day in 2011. My oldest son was a senior in high school. This mamma bear was on a mission to have fun family photos taken before the birdie left the nest. At this point, my boys were so tired of me sticking a camera in their face, so I was feeling “iffy” about how the day might go.
To my surprise, it was the most fun day our family had had in a long time. We smiled, and laughed, and were just plain silly. So, if you have seen some of the silly ones—this is why. We actually got in the car to head home, and they both commented about how much FUN that photo shoot was.
So, find yourself a FUN-loving photographer who will let your family be yourselves—-and capture those memories…..before the nest is empty.

When I first saw this collection you could say I swooned just a tad over it. This colour palette is my go-to. It is the colours that I use in decorating my house, and also what I have used predominantly in my scrapbooks over the years. You could say it is my comfort zone. So, most definitely, it was so easy for me to create with. It reminds me of snuggling up on the couch with a warm blanket and a good book. Comfort. It also reminds me of my grandmother and great-grandmother. The doily looking overlay on the paper, the birds, and the vintage clock in the stickers.

Hi, everybody. A week ago, I finally got the chance to meet up with my Best Friend Mischelle for dinner and a movie. We’ve been friends for over twenty years! I met Mischelle when I was a senior in high school. She’s 10 years older than me, but the age difference never mattered… as you can see. Twenty years later we still make fun of each other and laugh at ourselves. We often say, what happened to us? We are getting old!
I love the photo of us together. We barely had any makeup on, but we didn’t let that bother us. We always take photos when we are together. It’s all about the moment.

Father’s Day is always special in our house as we have some pretty great guys to celebrate! I have always taken photos on Father’s Day with our children and my Dad but as the children get older it is getting more difficult to have everyone together for a photo. Our two older ones have part-time jobs and their schedules don’t always work out for a group photo. I am so fortunate that we live close to my parents and spend lots of time together at the cottage and on vacations so we have lots of photos of my Dad with his grandchildren.
