Throughout the year, we receive many requests to see layouts/ideas using a certain number of photos on the layout. So, when we thought about what we would do for “12 Days” we decided it would be great to show you how to use 1-12 photos on a holiday themed layout.
So without further ado, we introduce you to the 12 Days of Cropping…
On the 1st Day of Christmas, Creative Memories gave to me an idea using 1 photograph.
Nothing says “Celebrate” more than cute party hats, right? And the new Party Hats Border Maker Cartridge, combined with one of our beautiful designer collections, takes the party to the next level!
Here, I’ve made some Party Time borders using both the bold, fun, colourful Cake My Day collection and the soft, warm and playful Woodland Whimsy collection. Two totally different takes, but the party hats all say “Celebrate”!
How did your first project go? Did you complete a single layout, or a 2-page spread?
We hope to inspire you with our projects, and can’t wait to see what you create and share with us!
Make sure that you are following us on the Facebook Event Page—so you don’t miss a beat!
The Pocket Albums are a great way to get a project done quickly, especially for gifts. I love using lots of embellishments so incorporating digital artwork with my photos works fantastically for pocket pages.
Looking to add a fun, graphic “punch” to your pages? Try out the new Doily Border Punch! The doily shapes are nearly 1-1/4″ big and by themselves really accent a page. But add a few more of the fun papers and embellishments from several favourite Creative Memories collections, and they really pop!
“Think imaginatively using new ideas instead of traditional or expected ideas.”
Can you guess what the sentence above is a definition of? I’m almost one hundred percent positive that you’ve heard it before…
Need a hint? A square box….or lots of little square boxes.
Did you get it now? Alright, let’s check your answer.
I was recently at a baby shower for a friend. The mother-to-be is obsessed with cute foxes, so the location was beautifully decorated with handcrafted woodsy-themed baby decorations, the food was cleverly named with forest creatures in mind (e.g., bare meatballs with sauce served on the side were labelled as Bear Balls), and the games were equally as well-thought-out and personalised for the future mum. The only thing that wasn’t well-thought-out and customised? The baby shower cards.
As I watched her open card after card and gift card after gift card (all bearing the same company name and image, mind you), it dawned on me how special a handmade baby shower card could be.

Woodland Whimsy for boys and girls is sweet for babies and is on trend, but it doesn’t need to be used for just babies! My babies are not babies anymore, but I loved using this sweet kit for photos of them!
The soft colours in Woodland Whimsy Baby Girl Collection is perfect for photos of Lauren and I. I love the triangles in the kit so I resized them, filled them with different papers and created a layout with triangles. I even tucked a couple of triangles behind my photos.
