Celebrate the School Year with the Essentials Back-to-School Scrapbook Layout

As the temperature outside starts to rise, warmer weather is just around the corner! How are you going to showcase all of the different memories you make this spring? The Essentials collection has everything you need to create a classic scrapbook layout that will make all your school-related memories look vibrant and beautiful. Read on to learn how to make this Essentials school scrapbook layout and try it for yourself!

To create this layout, you will need:

Step 1: Use a piece of Royal Blue Cardstock as the base for this layout.

Step 2: Cut five strips using different patterns of paper to measure 12″ x 1″. Then, take two of these strips and trim them into four sections that measure 2-7/8″ x 1″.

Step 3: Cut two smaller strips using different patterns of paper to measure 12″ x 1/2″.

Step 4: Cut another small strip of paper to measure 12″ x 3/8″.

Step 5: Lastly, cut a large strip of red patterned paper to measure 12″ x 4-1/2″.

Step 6: Adhere these strips to the base piece of cardstock as shown. Tip: Use Repositionable Adhesive to allow you to reposition the strips if needed.

Step 7: For the photo mats, cut a piece of yellow patterned paper to measure 6-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ and a piece of blue patterned paper to measure 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″. Photo sizes will be (1) 6″ x 4″ and (1) 4″ x 4″. Adhere the photos to the mats and then to the layout as shown.

Step 8: For the journaling mat, cut a piece of yellow patterned paper to measure 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″. Use the stickers with the “favourites” prompt to journal as desired.

Step 9: Cut a piece of green patterned paper to measure 3″ x 3″ and adhere to the layout.

Step 10: Adhere stickers using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.
