On the 7th Day of Cropping…

On the 7th Day of Cropping, Creative Memories gave to me an idea using seven photographs…

Snapped by mobile phones, shared on social media, and printed for the scrapbook; these snap-shots offer a glimpse of wonderful shared memories that were captured while celebrating a fun Christmas Tradition.

I LOVE a grid! If you’re looking to get lots of photos onto one album page without it looking cluttered, then a grid is the perfect go-to design! The trick is to keep all the photos the same height, then adjust the widths according to each image, trimming 1/8th of an inch at a time. This layout can be used for almost any theme; simply change the papers, embellishments, and punches!

Layout created by Tammy McEwen- Advisor

To create this layout, you will need:

Use the Black Chalkboard Paper as the base for this layout.

Cut a piece from the woodgrain patterned paper to measure 12″ x 1/4″.

Cut a piece from the red patterned paper to measure 12″ x 4″.

Using the Holly Border Punch, punch a border from the green patterned paper.

Using the Poinsettia Punch, punch 4 poinsettias from the red patterned paper and 4 poinsettias from the Cranberry Cardstock.

Use the yellow patterned paper as the background for the photo grid. Begin adhering cropped photos starting at the top left corner, ¼” from both the top and side of the paper. The photos shown in the layout are 2-3/4” in height and have various widths. TIP: Use the Repositionable Tape Runner as you may need to move photos around a bit to get a perfect fit.

Adhere the next photo to the right of the first photo leaving a 1/8” inch space between the photos. Continue to add remaining photos leaving a 1/8” inch space between the photos and a ¼” space around the edge of the paper. Trim photos as you go to ensure they are evenly spaced.

Once all photos are adhered on the yellow patterned paper forming a nice grid, trim the right side and the bottom to leave a ¼” border around the photos. The grid in the layout measures 9-1/4” x 9-1/2”.

Add the holly border to the left side of the base.

Add the poinsettias using foam squares and gems to the layout as shown.

Adhere the piece of red patterned paper 1” from the bottom of the base and adhere the woodgrain patterned paper at the bottom of this red piece.

Adhere the yellow patterned paper with photos to the base of the layout, approximately 1-3/4” from the top, depending on the size of the paper once the photos are added and trimmed.

Add a Title between the top of the layout and the yellow patterned paper using ABC/123 Stickers. TIP: Use the Multi-Purpose Tool to adhere ABC Stickers and small embellishments in just the right spot!

Add stickers and a journal box as shown using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.
