New Year’s Eve is quickly approaching so I thought I would share some photo tips I have learnt over the years from photographing fireworks. Some of what I have learnt has been from trial and error because I have had times when they just don’t turn out the way I planned, but when I get all of the settings correct I am so thrilled with the result!
Snapping photos at night can be challenging and rewarding! There are so many fun things hiding in the dark to capture – the moon, stars, shadows, lights, reflections …. I find working in manual mode has made the biggest difference in success for me with my photos in the dark! This post may get a little techie, but I will try to keep it simple and easy to understand. There is a lot of trial and error that goes on with night time photography and digital is so fantastic for learning and experimenting.
I love my digital scrapbooking content around special occasions because I can personalise, gifts, cards, invites, decorations, tags and more! Just wanted to share an idea to make your own tags for your Christmas gifts. The Christmas Past Collection is perfect for making tags!
Christmas tree lights are one of my favourite things to photograph at Christmastime! The tree makes a perfect backdrop for holiday photos. I thought I would share some fun ideas I have tried with my camera settings to get different looks for my photos.
I’m not big on the whole New Year’s Resolution thing, but this year I’m going for it anyway! As a mama of two little ones I struggle to find a balance in life. I love my family and spending time with them, I also love a house that isn’t in complete chaos, I love baking, I love my hobbies… the list goes on. There’s a lot of love, but only so much time. It’s hard!
Balance is key, and I’m still in pursuit of it, but in the meantime I am going to work on priorities. On the top of that list is my family and the time we spend together – so, my New Year’s resolution is going to be to spend meaningful time together and create lasting memories. This means letting the dishes wait until the kids are in bed and choosing to build couch cushion forts instead. This means hiring a babysitter and going on date nights. This means being present in the moment – even if we are just walking home from school or shopping for groceries – memories can be made anywhere!
Do you love receiving a personalised card? I do and I love making them to send to my friends and family at Christmas and all through the year. We receive so much electronic mail now and opening the mailbox to a personalised card is refreshing!
Did you see the NEW 12″ x 12″ Calendar Refill Pages?
These pages are great for documenting your day to day, or month by month.
….or you can use them in non-traditional ways.
Today I will share a few ideas with you, showing you exactly that. Non-Traditional Calendar Grid Scrapbook Pages.
You can use the sampler with an easel on your mantle as I did, or it would also be great on your old Creative Memories Everyday Display. After the holidays are over, use the sampler as a title page for your annual Christmas album or cut it apart into three vertical panels to use as borders on scrapbook pages.
We’re passionate about providing you with ways to save your memories in an artistic and creative way. You can now find our new Creative Memories artwork in digital papers, elements and mat packs in the following collections…
