It’s a musical birthday card that’s easy on the ears! Bright, colourful and handmade. They’ll love this wonderful greeting that comes directly from the heart, and they’ll especially appreciate the fact that the card is doing all the “singing” on your behalf. 🙂
To create this card, you’ll need:
- Shades of Bright Cardstock
- Border Maker System with Music Notes Cartridge
- Custom Cutting System with Circle Patterns
- Gold ABC/123 Stickers
- Foam Squares
- Paper Trimmer
- Tape Runner
- Mini Tape Runner
- Black Pen
Step 1: Using the Border Maker System with the music note cartridge, punch a 12” strip from orange, purple, blue and green cardstock. Trim each to 12″ x 1-1/4” strips.
Step 2: Using the paper trimmer, cut a 12” x 1” strip from each of the four colors of cardstock. (Orange, purple, blue and green) Adhere using the Mini Tape Runner behind the punched strips with the music note cartridge as shown.
Step 3: Cut a piece of the yellow cardstock to measure 5-1/2” x 11”. Fold in half to create 5-1/2″ card.
Step 4: Cut each of the previously created border strips to measure 5-1/2”. Adhere to the front of the card.
Step 5: Using the inside of the largest circle template for the CCS and the red blade, cut a circle out from the front section of the card. (Through the front layer only)
Step 6: To create the blue border for the opening on the front of the card, cut a circle into blue cardstock using the red blade on the inside of the large circle template. Centre the smallest circle template on top of the blue cardstock circle. Using the red blade on the outside of the circle, cut thin circle border. Adhere to the front of the card using Mini Tape Runner, lining up with the opening as shown.
Step 7: Cut a circle using the inside of the largest circle template, with the green blade from purple cardstock. With front flap of card closed, centre purple circle in opening on front of card and adhere using Foam Squares.
Step 8: Apply Gold ABC/123 Stickers adding the title “happy birthday” to the card. Add a music note shape using Mini Tape Runner.
Step 9: Use the black pen to draw “stitches” along the edges of the cardstock strips, and along the inside edge of the blue cardstock circle.
